Description

TPSB and TPS have undertaken an initiative to develop and recommend a modernized policing model for the City of Toronto that is sustainable and affordable. This new model will place communities at its core, be intelligence-led and optimize the use of resources and technology.

A such, this Request for Information (RFI) is issued by Toronto Police Service (TPS), for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options and requirements for the Body Worn Camera (BWC) initiative.

Objective
This RFI has the following objectives:

Determine the level of market interest;
Obtain information on potential new technologies and approaches;
Obtain recommendations that would enhance the success of a future procurement opportunity for this project;
Obtain detailed non-binding cost estimates for budget purposes; and
Understand innovative solutions that could provide TPS an opportunity to optimize business processes and efficiencies.

The intent of this RFI is solely to gather information. In the event TPS is satisfied that sufficient information has been gathered, TPS may, but is not obligated to, initiate a competitive procurement process for a BWC solution. The respondent’s participation in this RFI process is not to be interpreted or construed as a solicitation for tenders or proposals.

Blackout Period
TPS prohibits communication with respect to this RFI initiated by a respondent to any TPS or Board official, member or employee of TPS. Any communication between respondents and the TPS during the Blackout Period must only be undertaken through the designated official, for the purpose of obtaining information or clarification necessary under this RFI. Any communication initiated by a respondent during the Blackout Period, other than with the designated official, may be grounds for removing the respondent from any future competitive procurement opportunities related to this initiative.
