BS-20231001 - Bike Share Toronto Consultation & Engagement Strategy

The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) has an ambitious goal of expanding the Bike Share Toronto system to 1,000 stations total by 2025. By the end of 2024, the TPA intends to have a station installed in all 25 wards of Toronto. The network expansion is guided by the Bike Share Toronto Four-year Growth Plan, which was adopted by the TPA Board on September 29, 2022. The Plan identifies communities where new bike share stations are recommended as part of annual capital expansion from 2022 to 2025. Many of the communities identified for expansion are new to Bike Share Toronto – they do not have an existing station. The anticipated familiarity with the program in these new communities is low and the TPA wants to encourage ridership once stations are installed. To encourage ridership and improve station planning in new communities, the TPA is seeking proposals from qualified proponents to conduct a Consultation and Engagement Strategy that will guide annual engagement for bike share expansion in 2023 through to 2025.
