Description

The Township of South Glengarry, in partnership with the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne and Parks Canada, is seeking proposals for a project to enhance the interpretation of Tsitkatsinakwahere (Cairn Island) in the St. Lawrence River. The project aims to develop a Consultation Plan for the site's interpretation, involving key stakeholders such as the Hereditary and Elected Chiefs of Akwesasne, the South Glengarry Council, historical advisors, and local residents. The final deliverable will include a report with interpretative options for the Cairn. Additionally, there may be an amendment to develop an Interpretation Plan/Design, including potential permanent, shore-based, mobile, or virtual elements, along with a cost estimate for these exhibits. The consultant may also assist in further developing the exhibit content.
