Site Examination & Bidders Briefing
.1 Mandatory site visit for General Contractors to review site and surrounding area
before submitting Bid.
.2 A charter will be provided by the Owner from Thunder Bay to Sandy Lake (via
Sioux Lookout as required) for the purpose of a site assessment on November
19
th, 2024. The charter’s departure time will be provided in an Addendum and
will return to Thunder Bay on the same day. General Contractors are each
permitted one seat on the charter. All other costs for wages or travel will be the
responsibility of the General Contractor.
.3 General Contractors are required to notify the Bid Coordinator by 3pm on Friday
November 15, 2024 with their intentions to attend the site visit and which
airport they will be picked up at.
.4 The site examination on the day of the charter flight will include an opportunity
to visit potential areas for local resources such as concrete plant, aggregate pits,
etc.
.5 All General Contractors must attend the Mandatory Bidders Briefing
before submitting Bid. A Mandatory Briefing will take place on the same date as
the Mandatory Site Visit according to the Bid Call Schedule for all Bidders to
review the project with the Consultant and the Owner’s Representative. Bidders
must ensure they record their name, title and company name with the Bid
Coordinator. Failure of a Bidder to so attend and to register will result in such
Bidder Bid not being considered and having his Bid returned unopened.
