Description

The HEP Legacy fleet has exceeded its expected performance and investments are required on critical systems and structures to keep the fleet in service while maintaining operational efficiency and reliability.

As part of the HEP Repair Program, Lot 2b - Chateau & Manor - Structural & System repairs aims to address Structural repairs and Systems repairs / obsolescence such as Electrical, Interior, Carbody, etc… on 19 HEP1 Chateau cars and 39 HEP1 Manor cars, for a total of 58 cars.

This project is intended to be awarded to an external Contractor for the production of all 58 HEP1 Chateau & Manor cars.

A separate Invitation to Tender (202409006 - Baggage - Structural & System Repairs) has been issued on MERX in December 2024 for the same type of services. It involves 16 Baggage cars.

Event Note

The meeting will be held at VIA Rail Canada - Montreal Maintenance Center (MMC), 201, av Ash, Montréal, Québec, H3K 3K2.
While on the VIA's property, the participants will be required to wear safety hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, reflective apparel (safety vest) and safety boots in accordance with the Railway’s regulations as stated in “Safety Guidelines for Contractors.”
The number of attendees at the site is limited to four (4) per Tenderer.
Please ensure that you have read the requirements for the site visit and send the dully completed "Confirmation of Mandatory Site Visit & Working Session" document by email (see page 21-22 of the ITT) to confirm attendance by January 24, 2025.
The invitation and agenda will be shared to confirmed attendees afterwards.
