Description

The SMDHU is seeking the services of a lawyer or legal firm with demonstrated knowledge of legislation applicable to boards of health, and how they should be reflected in board bylaws. Such legislation would include by not be limited to the Health Protection and Promotion Act, the Municipal Act, Financial Administration Act.

The consultant will review the current Board of Health bylaws in light of recent changes to the Health Protection and Promotion Act, the Municipal Act, and any other applicable legislation and recommend revisions.

The consultant will also identify gaps in the Bylaw Framework of the Board of Health in light of current governance standards and best practice
