SFU has matured into one of the world’s leading teaching and research universities with more than 30,000 students, 6,500 faculty and staff, and 120,000 alumni.

This Request for Supplier Qualification (RFSQ) is an invitation by Simon Fraser University (SFU) to prospective proponents (the "Proponents") to submit their responses in compliance with the requirements outlined in this RFSQ. The objective of this RFSQ is to establish two lists of Qualified Architects whom SFU will engage to respond to specific invitations to bid for projects, or to directly award work across SFU’s Burnaby, Surrey, and Vancouver campuses in connection with projects that are either classified as “General” or “Science and Technology” . The engagement of Qualified Architects will be on an as-needed basis for design and construction phase services for projects with estimated construction costs up to $3,000,000, or for pre-design services for capital projects, provided the overall pre-design fee does not exceed $300,000. The scope of these projects will include services to be provided in connection with works to be completed for various buildings and infrastructure, among other matters .
Subject to the provisions of this RFSQ and other existing SFU rules and policies SFU intends to award work to Qualified Architects on either the “General” or the “Science and Technology” lists on an “as-and-when” basis. Work may include, but is not limited to capital projects, renovations, repairs, retrofits/renewals, interior and/or exterior additions/alterations, and feasibility studies and building condition assessments.
