The provincial government is enhancing primary care and access to family doctors across B.C. Part of this work includes the creation of a medical school at Simon Fraser University (SFU) that will educate physicians to work in team-based primary care settings that are patient-centered and socially accountable through research-informed curriculum and pedagogy and prepare graduates to meet the prevention and primary care needs of diverse communities and populations across B.C.
First Nations, Inuit and Métis knowledge systems in learning, research and practices will be embedded throughout the school, with strong connections to remote, rural, and Indigenous communities.
The initial phase of the project at SFU is to organize a project team office for administrative staff and faculty in leased office space on the 11th floor at the Central City office tower, space adjacent to the Surrey campus.
The 11th floor was previously occupied by two individual tenants, roughly split into a north and south side of the floor plate.
The Central City office tower is constructed with raised flooring throughout and both the north office and south office suites are finished with carpet tiles and T-bar ceiling.
SFU plans to use the north side of the floor temporarily in its as-built condition, with existing constructed offices and meeting rooms and finishes throughout.
The scope of this RFQ is to furnish the north side of the floor only. The furniture standards established here will inform future developments for the School of Medicine. Therefore, furniture components that are classic and timeless are required. *SFU may at it’s discretion, at a future date purchase furniture for the south side and subsequent floors from the same vendor(s) awarded during the current RFQ.
The total maximum budget for the north side is $285,000 CAD + tax, inclusive of delivery, assembly, and installation. ***Bids above this amount will be disqualified ***
*** The furniture must be delivered, assembled, and installed in January - February 2024. ***
