2024-PD-350 - RFP - Catering Services for SFU Surrey Campus

THE DELIVERABLES
Established in 1965, Simon Fraser University is located on British Columbia's west coast, and boasts three distinctive campuses, Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey. SFU is Canada’s leading comprehensive research university and is ranked one of the top universities in the world. SFU has eight faculties, delivers almost 150 programs to over 35,000 students and boasts more than 130,000 alumni in 130 countries around the world.

Simon Fraser University (SFU) invites competitive bids from qualified proponents to provide catering services commencing on July 1, 2024, at all SFU Surrey locations. The primary point of contact for all event-related matters will be Meeting, Event and Conference Services (MECS), responsible for overseeing catering, room bookings, service coordination, and managing client and proponent invoicing. Buildings at SFU Surrey are not equipped with kitchens and pantry storage for the contractor’s use. All food preparation will need to be done in the contractor’s kitchen and delivered to SFU Surrey Campus.

Room setup will be handled collaboratively by MECS, SFU Facilities, and contracted labour. Caterers will make necessary adjustments as needed during their setup.

Catering requirements will differ across various buildings, but it's essential to maintain consistent pricing throughout all locations.
 

• Catering services will include coffee breaks, refreshments, alcoholic beverages, breakfasts, lunches, receptions, and dinners. These events range from casual meals to grand banquets, catering to groups up to 400 attendees, with an average group size of 25.
• The successful bidder should offer a diverse selection of pricing and service options within each meal category. This allows a broad range of users to choose catering services suitable for their event needs and budgetary constraints.
• All services require linen.
