Description

Work to be Performed
The Contractor shall supply all equipment, material and labour to install expansion boxes on residential services that will mitigate issues arising from ground settlement, or other related Work as directed by SaskPower, within the City of Regina, SK. SaskPower will provide a schedule of works to be completed for a work area on a periodic basis that will have scheduled completion dates. The general scope of Work is as follows:

Repair and/or replacement of customer meter socket and/or components.
Replacement of meter jaws within the customer owned meter socket.
Repair and/or replacement of customer owned conduits and/or conductors.
Installation of the line side conductor box (expansion box) as per SaskPower specification.
- Expansion boxes will be provided by SaskPower
- Service cable will be provided by SaskPower
- Butt connectors (insulinks) provided – install training will be provided
The Contractor shall report all observations of the meter box to SaskPower.
SaskPower shall give direction to the Contractor as to what repairs are to be completed. The Contractor shall repair the residential service as per SaskPower’s direction. The Contractor requires SaskPower’s prior approval before starting repair Work.
SaskPower shall issue Work under this Contract via click mobile touch (SaskPower’s scheduling tool).
Contractor will safely remove the energized power meter, confirm voltage supply and re-install meter on energized meter socket using appropriate PPE and following SaskPower’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
All the Work shall be completed by the Contractor in an isolated state. Contractor must verify the absence of potential energy with a Modiewark or equivalent (equivalent equipment requires SaskPower prior approval).
Contractor will be responsible for all applicable permits as per the Electrical Inspections Act.
Contractor shall complete the Work under the supervision of a SaskPower designate or other third party as directed by SaskPower.
The Contractor will be required to complete the SaskPower notifications including taking pictures using smart phone issued by SaskPower. The Contractor will receive training of SaskPower’s meter exchange SOP.
The Work must be completed according to the Canadian Electrical Code, the Electrical
Inspections Act and the SaskPower Electric Service Requirements. All Work must be performed in accordance with The Electrical Inspections Act of Saskatchewan.
SaskPower will provide work schedules to the Contractor that will have key schedule milestones that the Contractor will need to meet.
SaskPower requires a start up meeting prior to the start date and shall be paid hourly for this meeting, as per the rates in the Contract Price Form.
Contractors are required to attend SaskPower’s meter exchange training and shall be paid hourly for this training, as per the rates in the Contract Price Form. Only Journeyed electrician will receive this training.
