Invitation to Proponents
This Request for Proposals ("RFP") is an invitation to prospective Proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Technical writing services for “Best Practices for the Prevention, Detection and Management of Occupational Dermatitis in Health Care Settings” and “PIDAC Hand Hygiene Best Practice Document”, as further described in Part 2 - The Deliverables (the “Deliverables"). This RFP is issued by the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (“Public Health Ontario") (www.Public Health Ontario.ca).
Background
Occupational Dermatitis and Hand Hygiene Best Practice Document:
A needs assessment survey was conducted in 2012 to identify key occupational health and safety infection prevention and control issues in health care settings, and based on the responses occupational dermatitis was selected as a serious issue for health care workers (HCWs). A best practice document on occupational dermatitis will be developed to address knowledge and practice gaps and will be based on a rigorous evidence-based literature review and extensive and inclusive environmental scan. This initiative was approved for Infectious Prevention and Control (IPAC)-Operational Plan (OP) 2017-18 Fiscal Year and will continue into 2018-19 fiscal for completion. The best practice document will describe the prevention, early detection and management of occupational dermatitis. The materials will be designed to provide direction and offer practical advice for the front line and those who have responsibility for the education, training and supervision of HCWs.
Hand Hygiene Best Practice Document:
Another IPAC initiative on Hand Hygiene Best Practice Document is being undertaken to develop a comprehensive review of the current Public Health Ontario Hand Hygiene Program and a plan to renew the program, tools, and resources.
