Invitation to Proponents
This Request for Proposals ("RFP") is an invitation to prospective Proponents to submit proposals for the provision of “Preventative Maintenance and Calibration Services of Pipettes”, as further described in Part 2 - The Deliverables (the “Deliverables"). This RFP is issued by the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (“Public Health Ontario") (www.PublicHealthOntario.ca).
Background
The laboratories of Public Health Ontario (PHO) utilize single and multi-channel pipettes to perform laboratory analysis of human samples, environmental samples, method validations and research. The accuracy and precision of the pipettes is paramount to providing accurate and reliable laboratory results. Pipettes must be properly maintained and calibrated biannually for clinical pipettes and annually for pipettes used in research. For clinical samples, equipment maintenance and calibration, including the maintenance and calibrations of pipettes is a mandatory requirement of the Institute of Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) Accreditation Program to which the Public Health Laboratories must comply. For environmental samples and supporting areas, equipment maintenance and calibration must comply with Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation Inc. (CALA) requirements. Calibrations must be traceable to a National Standard or International Standard and evidence in the form of a report and accompanying certificate must be supplied with all calibrations.
