Description

Design and Construction of Wood Drying Shed – Solicitation Number: 17-22055

A wood drying shed is required as part of a biomass Combined Heat and Power (CHP) testing and training facility that is being developed at the NRC Vancouver location on UBC campus. The wood drying shed will dry wet wood chips delivered by truck and will utilize hot air generated by a make-up air unit that recovers heat from the CHP unit. This facility is intended to simulate an energy system that could be replicated in a remote community in Canada; therefore, it is a requirement that the equipment is as reliable and low-cost as possible and could be easily accepted and deployed in off grid communities.
