Notice of Intentto Award a Contract
Notice is hereby given that the Corporation of the City of West Kelowna (the City) intends to enter into an agreement with Brantal Contracting Ltd, 205 Lougheed Rd, Kelowna, BC, V1V 2M1, to remove approximately 3,500 cubic meters of piled material located at 2515 Bartley Court, West Kelowna, BC.

Brantal Contracting Ltd. shall remove the material at no cost to the City, and In lieu of payment,
Brantal Contracting Ltd. shall keep whatever material is removed from the site. The work shall commence on March 4, 2025.

Product Overview:
The City has approximately 3,500 cubic meters of material that needs to be removed from 2515 Bartley Court. The piled materials mainly consist of sand, gravel, cobble and boulders of varying quality with limited geotechnical data and/or recommendations, and as such the materials cannot be guaranteed for any specific uses.

Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award:
After concluding further consultations with other professionals and local vendors, the City was advised that the costs to transport and dispose of this material would be significant and therefore this agreement avoids the City incurring additional operating costs.
