Consultant Services for Lions Gate Hospital Kitchen Fit-Out Project

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) intends to award the Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) Kitchen Fit-Out project, Project Number: F691-00, to HDR Architecture Associates, Inc. The estimated value of the consulting service contract is $91,150.00 plus tax, including HDR as the prime consultant and all required subconsultants, to update the Schematic Design.
VCH has made the decision not to complete a Request for Proposal (RFP) process for the following reasons:

• HDR Architecture Associates, Inc. is the existing prime consultant to the LGH New Acute Care Facility (ACF) Design Build Project selected through a competitive procurement process. As part of the LGH ACF Project, a Schematic Design of the LGH kitchen was completed in 2021. Subsequently, the kitchen portion of the project was put on hold due to budget consideration.
• To better support the patients and staff at Lions Gate Hospital and utilize the space in the Acute Care Facility, VCH will further the Kitchen Project. It is most efficient in both costing and scheduling to engage the existing consultant team, who accumulated project and site knowledge through years of working on the LGH ACF project, to continue with the kitchen design.
