Description

The Capital Regional District (CRD), hereinafter referred to as the "CRD”, invites Proposals for Ground Data Collection to Validate LiDAR-Derived Forest Types in the Greater Victoria Water Supply Area (GVWSA). This project will involve the establishment of a target of at least 50 plots to collect data on trees and shrubs using provincial methodologies supplemented with additional information at sites specified by the CRD. Survey grade GPS equipment is required to collect very accurate coordinates of the centre of each plot. Data collection sites will be distributed throughout the portion of the 20,610 hectare water supply area that are accessible by road. Detailed maps of the GVWSA road network will be provided to the successful proponent(s) to fine tune planning and travel-time estimates.
