Description

Seeking a vendor to provide portable scales, and weigh levelling mats on an as needed basis for the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program of the Ministry of Transportation and the Ontario Provincial Police. This vendor will also be required to provide maintenance to keep the portable scales operational, perform the annual certification and calibration for any new scales as well as the programs current stock of portable scales.
Scope of Work
The Ministry currently owns approximately 240 (two hundred and forty) individual Haenni weigh scale units and 32 (thirty two) owned by the Ontario Provincial Police, throughout the Province of Ontario. These are used as a tool for the MTO and OPP Officers to enforce weight requirements amongst other legislation on area patrol where static scales may not be available. These need to be certified for court purposes and be replaced as needed. There may also be a need for the purchase of net new units where operational needs dictate. The Ministry of Transportation has used Haenni Portable Scales for approximately 20 years and the service has been provided by the same service provider through successful bids. The Ontario Provincial police have used the Haenni portables for approximately the last 8 years and have also used the same service provider.
