2024-10 - Central Trunk Rehabilitations 2024 - Consulting Services

The Town is seeking qualified Consulting Engineers for the design, tender, contract administration and construction supervision services for the rehabilitation of the Town’s Central Trunk sanitary sewer. The intent of this RFP is to find a proponent demonstrating the capabilities to deliver the tasks elaborated in the RFP in the later sections. The intent is to complete design in 2024 and construction in 2025.

The Town’s existing Central Trunk is a 4 km long sanitary sewer that services a fully developed catchment area which includes primarily the oldest part of Stony Plain. The trunk varies in diameter ranging from 400 mm to 600 mm. In 2021, The Town retained Associated Engineering to conduct condition assessment of the trunk and identify the rehabilitation requirements. The condition assessment report categorized central trunk segments into three priority levels (High, Medium, and Low). The Town plans to address only the high priority segments, which consist of approximately 1100 meters in length under the scope of work outlined in this RFP.

The successful proponent would see the project through from start to finish including Design, Tender, Contract Administration, and Construction Supervision services. The consulting servicing is divided in two phases; Phase 1 includes Design, and Phase 2 includes Construction Services (tender, contract administration & construction supervision). The proponent will work closely with the Town's Engineering staff and stakeholders to ensure the project’s success from start to completion.

Phase 2 is subject to successful completion of Phase 1 and Council approving construction budget subsequently.
