MOJ CD 2 - Commemoration Park Enhancement Project

The Municipality of Jasper has received grant funding through the Healthy Communities Initiative for new landscaping features and park elements to enhance use of Commemoration Park for residents to socially connect. The Municipality is seeking a qualified team to design, supply, and install the park elements. The aim of this process is to achieve the best value for money for Jasper residents and visitors. Rather than providing an explicit list of features and elements to be supplied and installed, the Municipality has outlined a menu of different elements and indicated their priority to ensure that the available budget is used on the highest priority features and to give prospective suppliers some flexibility to creatively meet the Municipality’s request.
There are three different types and scales of new park elements, as follows:
- Larger structural elements including a gazebo and multiple shade pergolas,
- Natural play features for children, and
- Site furniture including picnic tables and benches.
These park elements are intended to be situated on the periphery of Commemoration Park to enhance the existing uses of the Park, which include children’s soccer and sports games, outdoor concerts and major events like the Jasper Folk Festival and Dark Sky Festival. The remainder of the peripheral park space is available for the new elements in this scope of work.

The scope of work includes planning, site analysis, design support through to installation of the new park elements, including the preparation of development and building permit applications, as applicable, for Parks Canada.
