Lakeland College requires a small-plot combine that satisfies the specifications listed in Section 2 of the RFP document.
2.1 Plot Combine (Description, specifications & requirements)
2.1.1 Operating platform/Cabin including header control, emergency safety shutoff of thresher and header, display for fuel, engine temp, passenger, and driver seat, a/c, heating, Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) certification (please provide certificate), 3 cameras set up for in-cabin monitoring, lights for night operation etc. Operation, multi-function joystick integrated into armrest of the seat for ergonomic use.
2.1.2 Minimum 65 hp diesel engine, needs tier 4 standards, engine location in the center of combine for ease of maintenance and stability of the machine, and rotating dust separator at the radiator.
2.1.3 Hydrostatic drive with stepless speed adjustment; hydrostatic steering
2.1.4 Park brake and foot brake
2.1.5 Conventional-style threshing cylinder with cylinder speed adjustment; cylinder and air speed display; ability to reverse cylinder/threshing direction.
2.1.6 Concave with insertable de-awning plates, 6 bar threshing drum
2.1.7 3-Step Grain cleaning system with adjustable sieves, hydraulic fan with stepless speed adjustment, fan speed adjustment from the driver seat, double sieve system with a minimum of 2 m^2 (combined). 3-Step surface shaker with a minimum of 1.8m^2 cleaning surface. Needs to have 2 shakers for pulses and cereals, and 3 bottom sieves.
2.1.8 Grain bagging system on the side of the unit; sub-sample bagging from a different location (driving platform)
2.1.9 800L grain tank capacity, unloading auger and ladder, needs to tilt back for safe access and visual inspection.
2.1.10 Tires with tie-down rings for ease of transport
2.1.11 Automatic weigh system and associated software- a single system that provides plot weight, grain moisture, test weight, and NIR measurements.
2.1.12 Sub-sampling system with adjustable sample size; passenger seat
2.1.13 Sample Storage outside of the cabin to reduce dust. Minimum capacity of 2 sample storage boxes 700mm x 400mm x 500mm
2.1.14 On-site training and combine set-up.
2.1.15 1.5m header width, hydraulically driven cutting knife, feeding auger (one complete auger for even feeding)
2.1.16 Hauling requirements- the offered machine needs to be less than 9.6 feet wide and less than 8000 lbs.
2.2 Service and Maintenance Requirements
2.2.1 Maintenance-operator manual, standard filters that can be procured easily, combine needs a maximum of 6 belts to reduce breakdowns. Western Canada support for the maintenance of equipment and the ability to reasonably support Central Eastern Alberta.
2.2.2 Lakeland College reserves the right to not participate in any service and maintenance program that it deems not in their best interest.
2.3 Warranty
2.3.1 Warranty/support-24-month warranty and technical support for the plot combine which will be located on our premise in Vermilion, Alberta. Lakeland College reserves the right to reduce the length of the warranty if deemed necessary.
2.3.2 The proposal shall include the cost of the warranty program(s) in the pricing section and provide detail on program(s).
2.4 Delivery
2.4.1 The preferred date of delivery is 1st August 2024 but the date is negotiable. Quotes must be inclusive of delivery.
