The College has a contract with Precise Parklink Alberta to manage and operate our parking facilities, which is in place for five years with an option for an additional five-year renewal. Our current parking equipment in the South Campus was installed 12 years ago and now the technology is old, can barely be supported without some major upgrades and is not providing the updated technology ability that customers are looking for. It is currently being supported by a third party that works with Bow Valley College and Precise Parklink. The circumstance is not ideal as the College owns the equipment and has a contract with the service provider, however Precise Parklink is responsible for ensuring the parkade equipment is functioning properly. Precise Parklink has advised that the only equipment they will manage, and support is Skidata. If we were to go with other equipment the support contract would be with the College again and we would potentially have service and support issues again, with the College being the middle player. Our research to find who sold Skidata resulted in finding out Precise Parklink National (Toronto) are the only authorized sales provider of Skidata in Canada. January 2024 As Precise Parklink is going to be our parking management provider for the next 5 years and possibly 10 and to provide the best service possible to our parking customers we would like to proceed purchasing the Skidata equipment listed here BVC Skidata Without Paystation 12.21.2023. Costing With the new equipment and the availability to scan at entry/exit or arrange payment through the parking app there will be no need to have a pay station on floor one of South Campus.
