Description

The Town of Amherst is seeking proposals for the supply and installation of a heat exchanger for the HVAC system of the Four Fathers’ Library, located at 21 Acadia Street, Amherst, Nova Scotia.

The successful proponent shall supply all materials and labour required to retrofit the existing Four Fathers Library HVAC system with a new closed loop heat exchanger, creating an indirect geothermal open loop system. The desired outcome is for the well water to never be introduced to the building loop, which should reduce maintenance costs and improve system reliability.

More specifically, the work shall include:
2.2.2.1 Supply and install one (1) new plate/frame heat exchanger to separate the open and closed loop.
2.2.2.2 Supply and install one (1) new variable speed circulating pump for the closed loop side of the upgraded system.
2.2.2.3 Complete all piping modifications and installation of all valves, sensors, fittings, or backflow preventers required to make the system complete.
2.2.2.4 System testing, start-up, and commissioning.
2.2.2.5 Include a minimum of 4 hours system training with Town of Amherst Staff.
