The Municipal District of Bighorn #8 (“Bighorn”) is seeking proposals from Qualified Consultants for the delivery of a fire rescue risk assessment in the Bow Valley highway one corridor. 2021 census numbers reveal greater than fifty percent of MD residents are domiciled in the hamlets of Harvie Heights, Dead Man’s Flats, and Lac des Arcs. Bighorn Emergency Services closest fire station (station 169) is located more than 20 kilometers away in Exshaw, Alberta. Currently, the hamlets of Harvie Heights and Dead Man’s Flats are provided fire and rescue services through a fire service agreement with a neighboring municipality.
