ITT21-0006 - Supply of Riding Front Mount Commercial Rotary Mowers 2021-2023

This Invitation to Tender (“ITT”) is an invitation by the City of St. Albert (“City”) to prospective bidders to submit bids for the potential provision of Supply of Seventeen (17) Riding Front Mount Commercial Rotary Mowers, 72”, c/w Cab and Broom, as further described in Appendix C.

The specification is intended to cover the requirements for a 35 HP Diesel 4-wheel drive, riding mower with a front mounted 72-inch rotary cutting deck with cabs and hydraulic brooms. The units are heavily used pieces of equipment, used for winter snow clearing operations on trails and sidewalks, cleaning of boulevards in the spring and for grass cutting operations during the summer.

It is essential that the City acquire units capable of meeting our operational requirements. Currently the City’s 72” mower fleet are John Deere. This equipment with the rotary broom configuration is used to clean post winter debris off City streets and grassed boulevards. The rotary broom required for the purpose must be a heavy-duty commercial model suitable for this purpose.

It is the City's intent to purchase a minimum of seventeen (17) 72” front mounted commercial rotary mowers over the period of three (3) years. Eight (8) mowers with cabs and brooms in 2021, four (4) mowers with cabs in 2022, and five (5) mowers with cabs in 2023. Brooms may or may not be required for 2022 and 2023 units.
