Description

Notice is hereby given by the Provincial Health Services Authority ("PHSA"), as agent for Fraser Health Authority ("FHA"), Interior Health Authority ("IHA"), Northern Health Authority ("NHA") and Vancouver Coastal Health Authority ("VCHA") of its intent to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide support and maintenance on legacy Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and related voice equipment for FHA, PHSA, IHA, NHA and VCH at an estimated value of $3,000,000 total.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authorities has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

(a) to ensure compatibility with existing products/systems

Rationale:
The FHA, PHSA, IHA, NHA and VCHA have legacy PBX and voice equipment deployed across their respective Health Authorities.
Telus is the only vendor that has stocked legacy parts in depots across the Province which are required to support the existing PBX and related voice equipment in these regions. Any disruption of support and maintenance of PBX and related voice equipment would cause risk to the delivery of safe and effective healthcare.
