Description

The MGCS-ITS Disaster Recovery Services forms a part of its client ministries’ Emergency Management Plan. The focus of disaster recovery-based planning is to ensure that contingency plans and procedures are in place to resume business as soon as possible after a crisis. According to Gartner, the industry’s best practices for effective disaster recovery focus on preparing for widespread disruption including planning for alternative locations, communications plans, and reviewing and testing. It involves proactive planning to ensure delivery of essential and time-critical Government services during severe disruptions. Disruptions can be attributed to a variety of sources, including data centre loss, power disruptions, communication failure, cyber-attacks, sabotage, tornadoes, fire, hazardous materials spills, and accidents
Scope of Work
The objective of this RFB is to select one Vendor who will provide disaster recovery services.:

Disaster recovery focuses on the IT or technology systems supporting critical business functions and is considered a subset of business continuity. It involves a set of policies, tools and procedures to enable the recovery or continuation of vital technology infrastructure and systems following a natural or human-induced disaster.
