20.0018 - RFP 20.0018 Missing Links Sidewalk Program

The Work will be along commercially traveled roads servicing high volumes of vehicles daily. The selected proponent must continuously provide the minimum or greater corridor traffic capacity standards as outlined in the document throughout the course of the Work.

This work entails, but is not limited to, the removal of the existing topsoil and subgrade material and the construction of a 1.50m wide separate concrete sidewalk and/or 1.70 m and 2.00m wide pin-on mono concrete sidewalk, while maintaining sufficient drainage of boulevards, curb ramps, commercial crossing tie-ins, curb and gutter tie-ins, and ditch bottoms that will be required to ensure the new sidewalk construction ties into existing roadway and property features. There will also be boulevard re-grading as identified in the drawings. All catch basins, manholes and valves in direct conflict with the construction of the sidewalk will require an adjustment.

There will also be some minor landscaping work to be completed with this project. The includes topsoil and sod behind the sidewalks and the removal and disposal of the existing sod.

There will also be some retaining block wall construction including minor landscaping work required at location identified on the plans.
This contract may also include other miscellaneous concrete construction and related work.
