ITT19-0014 - Managed IT Security Services

This Invitation to Tender (“ITT”) is an invitation by the City of St. Albert (“City”) to prospective bidders to submit a proposal for the provision of Managed Information Technology Security Services

Globally, cyber attacks are increasing in number, severity, and variety. The City of St. Albert needs to improve its capability to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber attacks, including those that occur outside of core business hours.

Utilizing a commercial Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service will provide continuous coverage using a combination of analytic software and live operations staff. Data from the City’s on-premise and cloud-hosted infrastructure will be continuously collected and analyzed by the Vendor’s Security Operations Centre (SOC), located at a Vendor’s facility.

When a cyber incident is detected, the Vendor’s SOC personnel will determine the severity and contact City staff and/or take appropriate and rapid action to neutralize the attack or isolate the affected systems. The SOC will have access public or private threat intelligence services or databases, possibly including data from other clients and cyber security companies, to enable appropriate preventive steps, detection and response, as well as make longer term recommendations to the City to improve its overall cyber security posture.
