The Town of Banff (Town) invites interested parties to submit a Tender Response for the construction of new improvements for Caribou Street between Otter and Grizzly Streets, in Banff. The works include a new sidewalk, curb, and gutter, catch basin replacement, installation of utility conduits, asphalt paving, line marking, and landscaping.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Town of Banff is located in Banff National Park and is part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain UNESCO World Heritage site. Our unique community strives to consider our location and our surrounding environment in everything we do. In order to sustain our community, regular improvement and maintenance of infrastructure assets is essential. The Town invests through a perpetual program to improve/replace and construct new sidewalks in support of its Strategic Goal to improve sustainable transportation for the benefit of our residents and visitors.
The focus of this tender is the replacement of a deteriorated asphalt path with the construction of a new concrete sidewalk, new curb and gutter, replacement of storm water catch basin, asphalt paving, traffic signage installation and roadway line marking and landscaping.
Ideally, the successful Contractor should have experience working in a National Park of Canada and be familiar with the Town of Banff – Contractor Environmental Responsibilities.
The lowest or any offer will not necessarily be accepted. We reserve the right to accept any proposal, in whole or in part, deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Banff. The Tender will not be awarded based solely on the quoted price of the offers; Tenders will be evaluated using the scoring criteria provided in the Tender Evaluation Information (appendix C).
The Tenders must carefully examine the Contract Documents and the site of the proposed works, judging for and satisfying themselves as to the probable conditions to be encountered. Submission of a Tender shall be conclusive evidence that the Tenderer has made such examination.
