Description

Lethbridge County is seeking an appropriate and qualified consultant to provide the County with engineering services for the Design, Contractor Procurement, Material Fabric Inspection, Construction Supervision, Contract Administration, Post Construction and Warranty Inspection Services for a Bridge File replacement within the County.

Bridge File #79589 is located east of the City of Lethbridge on paved Township Road 8-4 (Brown Rd) just 30m east of Range Road 21-1 (Howe Rd)
intersection. This single span bridge was constructed in 1960 crossing the SMRID irrigation canal. Deficiencies identified in the 2021 inspection were wide cracks and spalls in anchorage zone with exposed reinforcing steel that
resulted in a ‘3’ rating and an overall condition rating of 44.4. Ideally this bridge would be replaced with a standard CSP culvert able to handle the increased flows and hydraulic demands of the irrigation canal.
