Description

Businesses operating in Ontario can register and keep their business information up to date with the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery (the “Ministry”) through the Ontario Business Registry (the “OBR”). The new OBR allows businesses and not-for-profit corporations to complete over 90 transactions online, including registering, incorporating, and updating their corporate information.

Current OBR customers include law firms, accounting firms, search houses, private business owners, not-for-profits entities, law enforcement agencies, government regulators, and partner ministries. The Ministry is seeking to explore the potential for enhancing existing service delivery channels and expanding new services.

The Ministry is particularly interested in understanding what potential new products and services clients could develop by accessing OBR data. This will help the Ministry to improve the delivery of existing services and explore opportunities for service expansion, such as providing access to interested entities to the OBR through web services and provide services on behalf of their clients.
Scope of Work
This Request for Information (“RFI”) is issued by the Ministry of Public and Business Services Delivery (the “Ministry”), for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace, generally, to assist in the determination of future service options or requirements from interested users.

The primary goals of this RFI are to survey the market to:
• Assess interest from entities regarding OBR digital services.
• Understand what type of organizations may be interested in accessing OBR data.
• Seek input and information about what type of data the market is interested in.
• Understand what potential products and services could be developed by an organization that uses OBR data/information in a new format or combined with other data.
• Identify what type of technology businesses are generally familiar with.
