Questions & Answers
The following questions have been asked:
1. Will Transit Signal Priority (TSP) be integrated in the intelligent transportation system?
TSP will not currently be integrated in the intelligent transportation system.
2. Where in the process will the warranty begin?
When Local Government has deemed that the product is fully functional as per RFP (final acceptance).
3. Do the paratransit vehicles need to include all options, especially for interior sign, voice annunciation and fare validator?
The three paratransit vehicles must be included in the responses.
4. How many spares need to be quoted?
Spares should be provided on per unit basis.
5. How many users need access to the AVL system?
Minimum of four (4) users.
6. Is the Passenger Information Subsystem mandatory?
Yes, the Passenger Information Subsystem is mandatory, plus discard any reference of it being optional.
7. What is the anticipated award dated for this Agreement?
November 1, 2022
8. Who is the provider for SIM cards?
The Proponent should provide their own SIM cards as part of the submission. If the Proponent does not intend to provide SIM card, this should be clearly articulate in the RFP. Local Government uses Rogers as their cellular communications provider.
9. Where is the preferred location for the covert alarm?
Alarm can be placed anywhere; Local Government preference is for consistent placement on units so as not to confuse the operator. Minimum currently exist in fleet; bid should reflect none exist.
10. Will a covert alarm on the mobile data terminal the drive could use as well be acceptable?
Additional covert alarm button on MDT is acceptable.
11. What software does the Local Government use for payroll?
Local Government payroll system is Oracle.

Questions & Answers
The following questions have been asked:
1. Would extending closing date be considered?
Due to internal timelines, no extension on closing date will be considered.
2. Are the three (3) paratransit bus running on fixed rout and expected to be equipped with the same AVL?
The three (3) paratransit buses run on demand and should be included in the AVL proposal recognizing that the schedule will simply have a start and finish run time only.
3. Do buses have and existing router or modem that can be re-used?
No existing router or modem.
4. Do the buses have a Fare box that need to be integrated with for single log-on?
Current Fare boxes are manual with no electronic capabilities. They are for collecting cash and tickets only.
5. Are there any additional technical requirements with respect to scheduling software?
Scheduling software must incorporate or be able to fully integrate with on-board equipment and other subsystems identified in the RFP.
6. State the most important characteristics of the scheduling subsystem?
Create routes, schedules and timetables; create, support rostering and manage driver's schedule. Create, manage and track vehicles; use vehicle and driver data to improve schedules, and optimize schedules; integrate with the other mandatory systems, any other items identified in RFP.
7. Will the Local Government consider proposal for scheduling subsystem alone, with the requirement that it can be integrate with selected CAD/AVL provider selected?
All submission will be considered.
8. What is the desire date for training and implementation on the scheduling subsystem?
Prior to implementation of board period, no later February 28, 2023.
The Local Government is seeking a technology solution for their local transit system. The solution should be a standardized, viable and sustainable solution to meet accessibility requirements. Depending on available funding and anticipated growth, functionality options will vary accordingly. Proponents should have proven products that are specifically designed for public transit. Proponents that can provide the full suite of products is preferable. Any Proponent that has a stand-alone or
partial suite of products must demonstrate the ability to fully integrate with all other systems identified.
The Local Government cannot guarantee a fixed time schedule for this RFP process; however, this section provides the Local Government's estimate as to the time required.
