The Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) is a public sector provincial agency that brings together patients, families, and our partners from across healthcare and academia to inspire improvement in patient safety, person-centred care, and health service quality (www.hqca.ca). We assess and study the healthcare system, identify effective practices, and engage with Albertans to gather information about their experiences. Our responsibilities are outlined in the Health Quality Council of Alberta Act. We report to the Minister of Health, and operate independently from Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health.

The Health Quality Council of Alberta is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide Managed Information Technology Services (“Managed ITS”). The HQCA requires a fully outsourced IT management vendor to provide proactive and regular/ongoing Managed ITS in the following areas (details follow in the subsequent sections).
The qualified Vendor will:
 Ensure efficient operation of HQCA IT systems
 Minimize expenses and maximize the return on investment for expenditures on technology support, including hardware and software purchases
 Enhance the quality of Managed ITS for HQCA users
 Ensure the security of the HQCA’s IT infrastructure and data holdings
 Provide support in the following key areas that are expanded upon in the Scope of work and deliverables:
o Environment overview
o Workstation support
o Server administration services
o Network administration services
o Telephone systems support
o Application support
o General support
o Security services
o Strategic planning
