Description

OBJECTIVES OF THIS REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The objective of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to retain a contractor that will complete a technical report on available environmental monitoring data from the Lower Athabasca River. This includes summarizing and performing statistical analysis on data collected from the enhanced monitoring program (2018, 2019, and 2021) as well as other relevant Oil Sands Monitoring and provincial environmental monitoring data. Broadly speaking, this work will summarize baseline conditions across all indicators, assess the spatial and temporal variability at the local and regional scale, and define limits of change. In additional to functioning as a baseline dataset, this work will also help inform the design for an environmental effects-based monitoring program for future approved discharges of oil sands mine waters, should they be permitted. Detailed descriptions of the work, including major tasks and deliverables are provided in Appendix B (Services).
