Description

Throughout Alberta, fire bases are strategically located to ensure the Province remains in a constant state of preparedness to mitigate the risk associated with wildfire activity. Currently, there are 35 primary and secondary fire bases with incident camps being provided on an “as-needed” basis.

The Province requires the services of a catering consultant to complete reviews of the camps to confirm ongoing adherence with the Alberta Public Health Act as amended from time to time, as well as all other applicable regulations. Scheduled reviews will be completed virtually on a monthly basis, at minimum, with the potential for increases in frequency. Unscheduled reviews as well as emergency call-outs will occur in person. All reviews will be documented, and provided to the Province upon completion. In addition, the camp consultant will also help support camp supervisors with any issues that may arise that require addressing.

To maintain a consistent approach regarding the provision of services, the camp consultant will be limited to one (1) individual.
