Description

On average, the Province detects roughly 1,100 wildfires annually by a variety of detection agents. In an ongoing effort to improve wildfire detection, the Province is requesting information relating to the detecting of wildfires by use of fixed wing aerial detection patrols. Information requested is specific to high wing / mid wing aircraft that is suitable for wildfire patrols. C206 Cessna Station Air and/or C208 Cessna Caravan (or similar) are the specific aircraft requested. When not used for aerial patrols this fixed wing platform may also be used to transport personnel, assess wildfires, or move gear throughout the province.
