Description

Detailed Description
Infrastructure Technology Services (ITS), a division within the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, is responsible for providing technology infrastructure services to the Government of Ontario. ITS manages a multitude of technology agreements that are vital to government service delivery and currently host mission critical I+IT business solutions. The OPS is in the process of implementing a number of digital initiatives (https://www.ontario.ca/page/ontario-digital-service-key-priorities) which will shift a significant amount of the workload out of the Kingston Data Centre and onto existing cloud platforms. In order to maintain operational continuity for critical business solutions, ITS has developed a strategic procurement approach called Data Centre Management Services (DCMS) which is currently being implemented using a phased approach based on various existing contract end dates. Over the next six months the Ministry plans to release several procurements groups by technology stream that will provide MGCS with the ability to order hardware, receive warranty and post-warranty maintenance and support along with monitoring and management services to ensure ITS can maintain service level commitments for hosting services for all of the major classes of hardware: x86 servers, unix servers, storage & backup devices and data centre network equipment. The Ministry will be issuing future Notices of Proposed Procurements as information for release becomes available. The Ministry requests that any vendor questions regarding the planned procurements are held until the procurements are released.
Scope of Work
The objective of this RFB is to select a Vendor of x86 Products and Services as set out in this RFB, as per the Ministry’s request.
