Description

The Province requires security Services to be provided on an “as-needed” basis, with no guarantees of work at the Haig Lake, and Chinchaga primary firebases located in the Peace River Forest Area (PRFA). These firebases are strategically located for the purpose of providing a forward location for pre-suppression placement of resources (helitack, unit and firetack crews). The strategic locations allow for quicker response times for new wildfire starts, and support sustained action fires within the forest area. Due to the remote locations of these firebases, security services may be required to control access, protect property and equipment( ie: remote aircraft refuelling sites, heavy equipment staging areas, etc.) and regulate traffic, during periods of high fire loading and/or increased fire fighters and other support staff and equipment on site.
