476814-0011 - Package 17 - Van Gorda Sub-Station Civil Works

The contract includes the civil (earthworks) and below-ground structural concrete, with
some buried and embedded conduits, buried grounding. Key job steps are listed in the
expected chronological execution order are as follows but please review the scope of work to ensure all work is understood: 
.1 Mobilize to site
.2 Drain + dispose transformer oil and begin repairs.
.3 Bulk excavation of substation area
.4 Stage 1 backfill, a 100mm layer of Crushed Base Course (CBC) under the foundations.
.5 Form and place concrete foundations, including embedded conduits and anchor bolts.
.6 Stage 2 backfill of processed and compacted material to within 1100mm of the final
grade.
.7 Placement of buried electrical conduits and buried grounding.
.8 Stage 3 backfill of processed and compacted material to within 800mm of the final
grade.
.9 Relocate the power transformer from the Faro substation to new concrete pad.
.10 Supply and install geofabric oil containment liner under manufacturers supervision.
.11 Stage 4 backfill of processed and compacted material to within 200mm of the final
grade. Backfill oil containment liner with crushed rock having at least 30% voids.
.12 Casting or placement of pre-cast slabs at grade.
.13 Stage 5 backfill, 300mm layer of clean crushed insulating rock.
.14 Vacuum-fill transformer with new clean insulating oil.
.15 Install fencing using cast-in-place lean concrete or pre-cast fence posts.
.16 Survey layout and As-built drawings
.17 Site cleanup and demobilization.
