This RFQ is for design consultation and engineering for a water treatment research unit that will enable rigorous, in-field study of a photocatalytic treatment material and possible modalities for efficient UV-light delivery. The successful bidder will assist the University of Waterloo in delivering a field-ready treatment research unit for study with their industrial partner capable of testing the partner’s photocatalyst technology with both conventional and novel ultraviolet light (UV) sources, and generating treatment data for analysis. The objective is to specify a system design (e.g. – piping and instrumentation, equipment specifications), controls system (e.g. – PLC programming, sensors), and remote data logging system that can test multiple UV delivery systems to provide an economic value to the new, higher efficiency UV designs and study their efficacy on real-world wastewaters in field deployments.
