Background
The HoResearchGroup is interested in the design and characterization of innovative biomaterials and
drug delivery platforms for the treatment and prevention of disease. This includes drug carrier
systems such as polymeric nanoparticles, exosomes, medical implants, etc. These systems will be
evaluated in vitro and in vivo for biocompatibility, drug release/stability, cell targeting
ability, and therapeutic efficacy.
The Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) system will use liquid chromatography techniques to separate different components found in mixtures of low sample volume. The separation will be of high efficiency, accuracy, sensitivity, resolution and is able to detect compounds at very low concentration.
Delivery and installation of equipment is expected by August 1, 2020.
The budget for the project is less than $115,000 CAD, not including HST. This acquisition is made possible in partnership with the Canadian Foundation for Innovation.
