The University is soliciting proposals for transportation and moving services, including all labour, equipment, moving supplies, and vehicles necessary to carry out daily transportation services as directed by the Transportation Department Representative at the University.
At the present time, it is the University’s intention to enter into Contract with one (1) legal entity for the Primary Provider services, and up to three (3) legal entities for the fluctuating demands of the Transportation Department, Secondary Provider(s).
Primary Provider daily transportation and moving services, includes all labour, equipment, moving supplies, and vehicles necessary to carry out transportation services as directed by the Transportation Department Representative. This service will involve the transportation of goods, dismantling and installation of furniture, room setups for meetings and conferences for Conventions and Reservations, sorting and recycling items such as computers, paper boxes and steel.
The service area consists of the University of Ottawa’s premises which include: the main downtown campus, Roger-Guindon Hall on Smyth Road, the Alta Vista Campus on Peter Morand Crescent and 200 Lees. Transportation to and from nearby destinations may also be required (an approximate radius of 30 km).
Services are to be provided between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday year round (generally 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
Daily service requires TWO teams, EACH team to be comprised of:
- one cube van and equipment (listed below in section 5. Tools & Equipment) for approximately 2,000 hours per year
- two resources capable of speaking and reading BOTH official languages (French and English)* to be comprised of (1) driver/mover and one (1) mover (team must include one (1) experienced installer), for approximately 2,000 hours per year (4,000 hours total of labour)

Commercial General Liability : 5 million
All Riska Cargo Insurance: 1 million
Automobile Liability Insurance: 1 million
