2020084-RFP - SENSITIVE SPECTROSCOPY IN THE MID-INFRARED

General Description:

The proposed system will be used primarily to measure optical response of thin film materials with the intent to characterise their linear optical response, such as the dispersion of refractive index and absorption as well as nonlinear optical response, such as the kerr effect and saturable absorption. All such measurements will occur in the mid-infrared (MIR) spectral band from 2 um to 12 um. The spectroscopic system will be used three types of light sources in this spectrum: broadband incoherent light, fs laser pulses and the room temperature emissivity of the thin film. As such the detection system must be highly sensitive, low noise and provide excellent spectral resolution

                               
The Appendix A specifications contained in this RFP are the mandatory minimum requirements for the Sensitive Spectroscopy in the mid-infrared.

Should any instrument included in a proposal be superseded by a newer model during the period of time between the award of contract and the delivery date, the successful Proponent will be required to inform the University of Ottawa of the new specifications, the newer model pricing will remain the same as what was offered in the RFP. At its sole discretion, the University of Ottawa may opt to make changes from the list of instruments by altering, adding, or deducting some instruments.
