43981-6A-RFP - Mid-Infrared Phase Modulator

The Unversity of Ottawa is pleased to invite qualified proponents to submit a proposal for a phase modulator that will be used to compensate the high order phase error of microjoule level mid-infrared laser pulses.

Mandatory Requirements:

1. MIR Phase Modulator
1.1 Spectral bandwidth must simultaneously cover a range of 2.5 - 5 mm
1.2 Throughput Efficiency must be 30% or better
1.3 Repetition Rate must be 1 – 50 kHz
1.4 Number of Effective Pixels must be 180 or higher.
1.5 Input Beam Size (1/e^2) must be 6 mm or larger
1.6 Input Polarization must be Linear
1.7 Group delay must be >5 ps at 5 mm

2. Accessories
2.1 Must include either a laptop or desktop capable of running the necessary software.
2.2 Must include a Chiller that matches the heat load of the device, or better.
2.3 Must include an RF Amplifier suitable for the instrument.
2.4 Must include an Arbitrary Waveform Generator suitable for the instrument.

3. Other Requirements
3.1 Installation and training must be included.
3.2 The instrument must operate for a minimum of 8 consecutive hours; 5 days per week.
3.3 Must include one (1) year warranty on parts and labour.
3.4 Must be capable of providing up to a total of 5 years of extended warranty.
3.5 All electrical components must have CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certification or accepted equivalent as per Electrical Safety Authority Recognized Certification Mark at the following link: https://esasafe.com/electrical-products/recognized-certification-marks/ Otherwise, all electrical components must be able to undergo the applicable electrical inspection, and/or, certification, without voiding the system warranty.
