The University of Ottawa is the largest (English-French) bilingual university in the world. Its students can study in English, French or both. The University has more than 44,000 full-time and part-time students, and among them over 5,500 international students are registered in undergraduate, master or doctorate programs.
The University is among the world’s 200 most international universities (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016). The University is among the top 10 universities in Canada for research and offers about 200 undergraduate programs and over 185 graduate programs.

The University is looking to engage one or many firms to provide services in support of its different international student recruitment objectives. This includes:

• Increasing the various forms of diversity of its student body including cultural diversity, level of study diversity, and academic program diversity.
  • Cultural diversity involves increasing and diversifying recruitment efforts in a plurality of source regions and/or countries
  • Level of study diversity involves expanding recruitment efforts at the undergraduate and graduate levels, especially for bachelors and masters’ programs
  • Academic program diversity includes expanding recruitment efforts in all of the university’s programs (whether in the sciences, engineering, management, arts and humanities, etc.). This also includes recruiting for language bridging programs such as the University’s existing English Intensive Program (EIP)
• Ensuring that recruitment is targeted towards academically qualified students that are most apt to succeed in their studies. 

• Providing the University with :
  • An optimized recruitment plan developed in collaboration with the University such as to meet pre-established recruitment objectives;
  • Up to date competitive industry intelligence (e.g., current trends, buyer behavior research, opportunity analyses for different regions and/or countries, etc.);
  • Support for the University when it is present in priority source regions and/or countries; and
  • Support for the University’s existing recruitment partners in specific regions and/or countries (e.g, China, India, etc.). 

• Providing prospective international students in source regions and/or countries with:
  • Pre-admission academic counselling that ensures that both the student’s and University’s needs are met;
  • Support during the admission process to ensure a smooth interaction between the student and the University; and
  • Language testing services to ensure adequate language preparedness for the student, and enable the University to identify proper language training.
