21017032-RFP - Installation and Dismantling of the Air Supported Structure

The PROPONENT will be responsible for the installation, dismantling of the dome. The Proponent is responsible for the storage of the membrane and all related components into five (5) 40’ storage sea containers located on the Lees Campus site. This includes, but is not limited to the dome membrane, dividers netting, lights, ballasts, vehicle air lock, garages doors, insulation rolls, metal fasteners and protective plywood. All emergency doors (6) and the main entrance doors (2) will be stored under the bleachers.
 
General Description:
 
The PROPONENT must ensure that the two sections of the ventilation unit are craned at proper location (See annex I for exact location).The University is responsible to assemble and dismantle the two sections of the ventilation unit. The startup of the mechanical unit will be University responsibility. Crane must stay on paved maintenance lane at all times
 
When installing electrical boxes, the PROPONENT must ensure the enclosures are properly cleaned of all debris and water.
 
The Proponent is responsible for the cleaning of the membrane prior to storage. The Proponent must follow the manufactures recommendations when cleaning the membrane.Special attention must be placed in cleaning the membrane where it anchors into the grade beam channel. Never fold and store a wet structure as mold and mildew will severely stain the vinyl surface.The 2’ x 4’ locking strips must also be dried and cleaned before they are stored.
 
The PROPONENT must provide to the Facility manager a detailed schematic of all components related to the installation/dismantle of the dome. This includes, but is not limited to the insulation rolls, dome membrane sections (8) and retention cables.
 
The University will take the responsibility to arrange the following items to assist the Proponent in either installation or dismantling of the Dome”. The cost of these items will be responsibility of the University.
 
-125 Ton capacity crane to place the equipment and dome sections.
-26 Ton capacity crane with flatbed for moving sections from storage.
-10,000 lb. and 5,000 lb. forklifts
- 1, genie boom 65’
-2 scissors lifts
-on-site dumpster (dismantle only) important to note, the PROPONENT is responsible to make sure that everyone on their team using the equipment is qualified to do so. The PROPONENT is responsible to ensure that anyone on their team using the University of Ottawa rented equipment does a thorough inspection of the equipment to make sure it is fit for use.
