The University of Ottawa is seeking lump sum bids and a CCDC 2 contract for the rehabilitation of wooden heritage doors at Hagen Hall on the University of Ottawa's main campus..
A mandatory job showing is scheduled for Tuesday September 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Hagen Hall Main Entrance Location, 115 Séraphin-Marion, Ottawa.
Bidders must submit within two (2) business days of Bid Closing proof of the following qualifications:
.1 Sub-trade experienced in the restoration and repair of historic wood doors similar to the doors on the project.
.1 Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience on this type of work.
.2 Submit references of 5 projects completed within the last 10 years of similar scope and value.
.2 Work under this section to be performed under the supervision of a wood conservator:
.1 With minimum 10 years experience.
.2 Other project personnel to have minimum 3 years demonstrated experience on similar work.
.3 Submit qualifications for the wood conservator and key restoration personnel
The Project includes, but is not limited to, the following scope of Work, as defined in the Standard Construction Document, CCDC 2 - 2008, Stipulated Price Contract:
[.1] Rehabilitation of wooden doors including:
- Dismantling the existing doors;
- Minor wood reparations;
- Replacement of the deteriorated part;
- Repair door frames in situ;
- Conceal wiring in wooden doors;
- Painting of wooden doors and frames;
- Replacement of rusted hinges.
[.2] Temporary door installations:
- Installation of temporary doors on both entrances
- Installation of a power operator for AU access on secondary entrance and permanent entrance.
[.3] and any other work required to complete this Project.
Bids are due at 139 Louis-Pasteur in Room 274 before 3:00:00 on Thursday September 26, 2019.
The University intends to award a CCDC2, 2008 Stipulated Price Contract for the this project. The contract documents will include the provisions of this RFT and the University of Ottawa’s Supplementary Conditions to the CCDC2, 2008
