Toronto Metropolitan University (the “University”) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to gather information and schedule strategy discussions (via a conference call or video call) from interested Suppliers with experience in provisioning R.A.D. Systems of Self Defence™ or Equivalent Instructor Training Courses with the province of Ontario.
The intent of this information gathering, and discussions is to obtain service feedback from Manufacturers or Suppliers to assist the University in securing a R.A.D. Systems of Self Defence™ or Equivalent Instructor Training Courses, as well as certification for an instructor to train and certify others to be instructions of the program. This RFI is being conducted on behalf of the Community and Security (“CSS”) Department.
With the advent of Building Ontario Businesses Initiative Act (“BOBIA”), 2022 O. Reg 422/23 which took effect April 1, 2024. BOBIA applies to all university purchases totaling less than $121,200. The BOBIA act permits preference for Ontario based Suppliers or Manufacturer’s. Suppliers or Manufacturers’ are requested to complete the Ontario Business Attestation Form, to assist the University with their reporting obligations, as part of this RFI.
The University firmly believes that participation will be mutually beneficial to both the Supplier/Manufacturers and to the University; however, participation in these discussions is completely optional (for clarity, they are NOT mandatory in order to participate in the future RFP or RFPs).
