McMaster University plans to purchase MAINTENANCE SERVICE CONTRACT FOR FEI/THERMOFISCHER SCIENTIFIC SEM, TEM AND FIB from Systems for Research and is notifying its intent to Limited Tender by way of an Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN).
McMaster University seeks to acquire a maintenance service contract to maintain several of the instruments that it operates under optimal operating conditions to ensure that the tools provide the best level of performance. The equipment that needs to be maintained has been manufactured by FEI (now ThermoFisher Scientific) and it consists of one image corrected monochromated transmission electron microscope (low base FEI Titan 80-300 with CTWIN lens (S)TEM), a probe and image corrected monochromated FEI Titan 80-300 cubed STWIN lens (S)TEM, an ultrahigh-resolution scanning electron microscope (Magellan 400) and a plasma focused ion beam/scanning electron microscope (Helios G4UXe). The maintenance must provide all parts and repairs, as necessary, for the optimal operation of the tools described in this Advance Contract Award Notice.
To the best of McMaster University’s knowledge, System for Research, representing ThermoFisher Scientific in Canada, is the only supplier that can provide the maintenance service for the equipment described in this document. The uniqueness of this service is to maintain the operation of the microscopes at the optimal level in order to provide continued operation in an existing research program associated with the operation of the Canadian Centre for Electron Microscopy.
