McMaster University is seeking to retain the services of a specialist consultant for the design and specification to implement smart building solutions for the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery and invites qualified bidders to submit responses in accordance with the terms of this Request for Proposal (hereafter referred to as RFP).
McMaster is seeking to expand the education services offered by the Degroote School of Business (DSB) because of significant growth in the Bachelor of Commerce program over the past several years. In these continued efforts to expand business related services, DSB is currently constructing a new facility on the main campus in Hamilton, ON. which includes the demolition of a 2-story structure on the proposed lands and is constructing in it’s place a new 10 story facility called the Mclean Center for Collaborative Discovery (MCCD). The new LEED GOLD building will be home to the Degroote School of Business, Innis Library, a large lecture hall and various other user groups that support a vast array of student services across campus. One of the mandates requested by DSB for MCCD was for it to be a state-of-the-art facility in many respects, one of which being it’s ability to predict how the spaces within the building are used and have the building respond intuitively to its use and environment in an effort to make it more comfortable, convenient, energy efficient and collaborative for its users – smart building.
